K&S Staffing is hiring for a Heavy Equipment Second Operator
The Second Operator supports the plant by monitoring incoming fuel and managing the movement of fuel to ensure continuous, uninterrupted operation. This work is to be done in a safe and efficient manner, in accordance with written procedures and good operating practices.
The job duties listed are typical examples of the work performed by the Second Operator. Not all duties assigned to this position are included. Second Operators may be asked to perform other duties and requirements may vary.
- Maintain awareness of safe working conditions and practice safe work habits in all activities. Caution others, as necessary, to work in a safe manner. Attend safety meetings and training programs and participate in plant safety programs as required
- Operate bulldozer, front-end loader, backhoe, unloader, and forklifts in a safe and efficient manner to manage fuel to maintain continuous operation
- Complete daily preventative maintenance on heavy equipment
- Monitor and inspect mechanical equipment including boiler, steam turbine, fuel conveyors, pumps, motors, and all other machinery in the plant as necessary
- Complete and maintains required clean up throughout the Plant
- Manage the fuel supply storage for optimum mixing, storage, drying, reclaiming and pile shaping
- Communicates status of fuel handling equipment to appropriate members of operation.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Basic math skills, mechanically inclined,
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read, understand and interpret instruments and gauges.
- Willing to be available for unscheduled shift coverage, able to work overtime, and work rotating 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to work as a team member as well as independently.
- Must possess initiative, self-motivation and integrity.
- Experience operating heavy equipment listed above is a plus
- All employees are required to comply with the Substance Abuse policy, which includes but is not limited to a post-offer drug screen and physical examination
- Position regularly requires twisting, bending, stooping, crawling, squatting, kneeling, and climbing stairs and ladders
- The Second Operator will work in a noisy environment and will be required to wear hearing protection.
- Must be able to work in extreme outside temperatures both hot and cold in dusty, windy, and wet conditions
- Must be able to push and pull up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 35 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to pull own weight to enter and exit cab of vehicle and equipment
- Working with hazardous materials may be required
This job is located in Susanville California.
Pay is $20/hr. to start DOE

This position is located out at the Mustang Exit off I-80
? Work safely and actively promote a safety-first working environment.
? Perform quality control of MSW and recovered unacceptable material from the sorting line.
? Operates industrial equipment including forklifts and personnel lifts to support operational functions, the clearing of jams and movement of tipper bins.
? Performs recovered material quality control; identifies and sorts non-targeted contaminant materials from recovered recyclable commodities.
? Clean equipment, grounds and work areas throughout the FPF.
? Participate in training of FPF job functions.
? Maintain daily checklists, perform routine equipment inspections and conduct assigned system preventive maintenance.
? Supports and relieves other FPF sorters as needed.
? Participates in other FPF operations and tasks throughout the FPF.
? Conducts other duties as assigned.
? Valid Nevada driver’s license and ability to maintain such license.
? Forklift operator certification and ability to maintain such certification.
? Willingness and acceptance to train in other operations and tasks to ensure the ability to perform other duties throughout the FPF.
? Ability to participate in emergency response activities.

K&S Staffing Solutions has immediate openings at one of our Galvanizing companies out at USA Parkway. Must have reliable transportation, tie up steel toe boots and warm clothes. This job is outside a lot and it is prepping metal to be galvanized and cleaning up the metal after it is dipped. Pay starts at $18/hr and Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm. This is a temp to hire position. Responsibilities Include:
